Orecchiette – Meaning “little ears” in Italian, orecchiette features a distinctive concave shape that's perfect for capturing chunky meat or vegetable sauces in every bite.
-
Tri-Color Fusilli / Fusilli – Named for the Italian word fuso, meaning “spindle,” fusilli features a classic corkscrew shape. Traditionally, this pasta was created by rolling thin strips of dough around a small rod to form its signature spirals.
-
Penne Rigate – Derived from the Latin word for “feather” or “quill,” penne rigate features an angular tubular shape with ridged sides that are especially good at holding rich, flavorful sauces.
-
Farfalle – Dating back to the 16th century, farfalle is one of Italy's oldest pasta cuts. Its name means “butterfly” in Italian, although this charming shape is also commonly known as bowtie pasta.
-
Strozzapreti – A unique pasta cut popular in the Tuscany region of Italy, strozzapreti has a colorful history. Its name translates to “priest choker,” which may refer to the traditional collar worn by members of the clergy.
-
Conchiglie – Named for the Italian word for “seashell,” conchiglie features a shell-like shape that's particularly well suited for catching pieces of meat and vegetables in hearty sauces.
